Role Overview

The Head of Production is responsible for the highly regarded execution layer of all BRS global projects.

This role ensures that the approved planning is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and at the expected quality level, through strong leadership of Production Managers and production teams.

The Head of Production does not own creative concepts, but works in close partnership with the Head of Event Planning to ensure execution feasibility and delivery excellence. This is a senior leadership role focused on structure, standards, and reliability across all production outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Delivery Oversight

• Own production execution across projects, delivered through Production Managers and onsite teams
• Translate approved planning outputs into production reality
• Oversee timelines, suppliers, technical production, logistics, and onsite delivery
• Ensure consistent delivery standards across all projects
• Own production-related risk management, contingencies, and safety

Budget & Cost Ownership

• Own and control production budgets  during execution within project lead budget frames
• Make clear can / can’t / cost / timing decisions
• Escalate risks early and transparently

Team Leadership & Structure

• Lead and develop a team of Production Managers (employees and freelancers)
• Ensure each project has a clear Production Manager responsible for execution
• Support Production Managers in complex or high-risk situations
• Build a resilient, scalable production structure beyond individual projects or personalities
• Drive consistent production standards, documentation, and learnings

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the Head of Event Planning to:
  • Validate feasibility before production lock
  • Clarify assumptions and handover points
• Align with Creative teams on execution constraints (without owning concepts)
• Partner with Client Services on delivery expectations and client communication where needed

What This Role Is Not

• Not responsible for creative authorship
• Not responsible for client strategy
• Not responsible for leading Project Leads or Project Managers
• Not a single-person execution role - delivery happens through the production team
  
  Skills & Expectations
  • 8+ years of experience in event / technical production, including large-scale and international projects
  • Strong background in production budgeting, supplier management, and cost control
  • Proven team leadership across multiple productions
  • Deep understanding of live production realities (timing, safety, feasibility, contingency planning)
  • Experience working with international suppliers, crews, and production partners
  • Structured, decisive leader who can hold boundaries under pressure and deliver reliably
• Comfortable operating at program level in a growing organisation with evolving processes
